Georgia

← Journal Overview

Georgia is a country that's very dear to my heart, as my mum comes from there, which makes me half Georgian. Being there feels like going home and I've always had the wish to spend more time there. In March 2025 I finally made that wish come true and decided to spend a whole month in my families home on the Georgian countryside.

This is what I wrote during my stay:
I came here to have more time for my artistic development, since I felt like at home I didn’t have the headspace to evolve creatively. I’m aiming at developing my own artistic language and technique. It’s something no one can teach you. It’s a trial and error path, full of errors and some successful highlights, that make this journey interesting.

My primal motivator during this time, was following my intuition. It often feels like my Intuition gets lost and I’m so much in my head. Therefore I have started to make art that is very much driven by the mind. I don’t want that. I want my art to be an expression of intuitive and spontaneous gestures that, represent of my inner self.

Based on my time in Georgia I've created a series of works, all connected to the Georgian countryside:

Wild River , Caucasian mountains, Unexplored Georgia
